This Day in History!

ASCAP, or the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, marks its 100th anniversary today. Many writers and performers owe their livelihood to the efforts of this group, the nation’s first performing rights organization charged with collecting and distributing music royalties to its nearly 500,000 member songwriters and publishers.

Great article describing ASCAP

In honor of this great anniversary, I researched women's hairstyles from 1914, my granny's year of birth. I found this old poster dealing with the scandalous topic of bobbed haircuts:

"If you must do it, show this to your barber"! I mean, ladies, if you just can't help yourself, at least have the decency to make a sensible choice from this approved chart. What's next, ladies, trousers? Come on. That's just about as insane as giving women the right to vote.

New Dawn, New Day

This Day In History! In 1964, the Beatles played their first US concert at the Coliseum in Washington DC. In honor of the decade they helped define, I tried a "Twiggy-insprired" face of the day, although I more resemble her stouter, older cousin, Figgy:
I think I spent an hour on each eyebrow. Lesson: black eyebrows are nearly impossible to cover.

Twiggy and I are practically twins.

My hooded eyelids prevent you from seeing any of this detail unless I am gazing fixedly downward like Angst itself.

I used only Younique products for this look - Products used: (From Younique Moodstruck Minerals line) - Face: BB Cream in Bisque, Concealer in Fresh; Lips in Stunning; Eyes: Pigment Powder in Corrupted, Sexy, Irresistible; 3D Lashes.
